All materials used are archival.Mark Kerckhoff is best known for his unique brush handling, powerful, painterly compositions and striking color choices.Mark attended Saddleback College, Mission Viejo, Cal State University Fullerton and Cal State University Long Beach , majoring in painting and drawing.Common themes found in Mark's work are coastal cliffs, oak landscapes, and desert arroyos and still lifes.The base of his interest in landscape painting stems from growing up in rural Los Angeles County, and the families' ranch on the Central Coast.Mark spent his youth, raising game birds, and riding horses through the cactus-strewn, chaparral hills above his home.Inspired by the old and modern masters, Mark executes paintings that embrace his love of color and drawing, high aesthetics and craftsmanship.
