Everly Brothers Best mono LP on Cadence CLP 3023. Red and silver label. Jacket is VG+ with great gloss, tight top seam and spine. Bottom seam has a split in middle. Despite this flaw cover is overall quite beautiful. Disc visually is VG+ with some faint paper scuffs that do not affect the play. Audio grade is VG+. There is some faint light noise in quieter passages but dynamics come through strong and clear. There are many interpretations of the grading system. The following system has been provided to give you an idea of how we grade and what criteria we base our grading decisions on. We tend to follow standard Goldmine grading. M (mint) - This would be an absolutely perfect record in every way. No cover flaws including, splits, ring wear, names written on cover, or stamps. Labels have to be free of spindle marks, initials, writing, or stamps. Vinyl should be free of any imperfection, including light paper scuffs, scratches, and even blisters that occur in factory pressing. Records should have full gloss. NM (also M-) (near mint or mint minus) - A near mint or mint minus LP should appear to have been opened for the first time. The records still have full gloss, no visible defects, labels are free of writing, stamps, stickers (non promo), etc. No spindle marks. No surface noise. Covers have no creases, seam splits of any kind, or ring wear. These grades are very strict but finding LP's from any era in these conditions can be very difficult which is why they demand top dollar. E (excellent) - This grade is sometimes not used or is identified as very good plus (VG+). We use this grade to identify those albums that tend to fall between NM and VG+. These albums are usually starting to show minimal signs of wear that prevent it from being NM but are better than a VG+ record. VG+ (very good plus) - These are amazing listening copies. They have been used but have been well taken care of. They should also be free of the majority of flaws listed in NM and E but may be starting to show signs of wear. Light paper scuffs, which do not affect play, may be present. There should be minimal to no surface noise. Ring wear may be starting but shouldn't be very obvious. There may be some seam wear or light flaking but seam splits should be no more than an inch long. VG (very good) - The imperfections encountered on a very good plus LP will be more obvious on a very good record. Surface noise may be present or occasional pops and the vinyl may have low gloss. Discs will have spindle marks, writing, stamps, etc. Covers will have seam splits and/or ring wear. These are still sought after records as they make great listening and filler copies and the price is often quite nice. VG- (very good minus) - These are well worn records. Ring wear is heavy and splits are much longer, occasionally the length of the seam. A VG- seam split would only be on ONE side of the jacket. Writing, stickers (non promo), spindle marks will be present as well as low to no gloss, surface noise, multiple audible pops, and ticks as well. These are generally regarded as filler copies. G (good) - Despite the name good is not that good. This is absolute filler. The cover will feature TWO or more full length seam splits, lots of marks, wear, surface noise, etc. Albums falling in this grade are usually offered if they are super rare and someone needs a copy to fill a gap in their collection until a better piece comes along. They are also referred to as "bargain basement" or even graded as "Poor." Please thoroughly read the item description and contact us if there is any question about the LP before you bid.
