Here's a rare polyhedroid agate from Brazil. This extinct material was mined in the '70s and is said to have achieved its bizarre angular form by depositing in the spaces between large carbonate crystals. The crystals weathered away, but the agates remained - and what special agates they are. This excellent specimen features 6 well-formed faces - one cut to reveal blue/gray and black banding with a botryoidal agate center. Uncut poly's don't come up that often - especially with proven agate centers and such nice form. A very special addition to any collection. weighs about 1 pound (453 grams).Pictured dry with ruler and wet.Stones are lapidary rough, not polished.Win mutiple items and combine to save on shipping.USA only.!
