is one Rare, Unlisted bottle. It is calabashed shaped, footed, with a large tubular pontil. It stands 8 1/2" tall with a nice Hand Applied double collar neck, a bit drippy. Seam lines extend right up to and maybe a bit under the collar. Boldly embossed A. N. THOMPSON / & Co / NEW YORK. Notice the symbol they used for "&" - all straight lines and 90 degree angles. Near Mint Condition with No Damage. The only thing keeping this from beeing MINT is a coupla-three Very light scratches you have to go looking for. This piece is absolutely 'hammered' with whittles. I know of one other piece in existence, that one with a partial label. Probably a couple more that I don't know about, but I have had this for years and have looked the entire time for another. So, all in all, this has everything going for it: Great Calabash Form, Embossed, Open Pontiled, Rare as hens teeth on pig farm, A+ Condition, and only 2 Known Examples - from years of looking. A tremendous American Pontiled Bottle. Please note: the bottle does not stand crooked - just my bad photograpy!!!!I had this up a while ago with a high reserve, which was not met. So I'll put this up with no reserve, a low opening bid, and hope to heck that it does not lose me any money - I paid a hefty price for it.
