Published for subscribers by William Mackenzie circa. 1890, this is a beautifully presented, handy 10 volume complete set of ; 'Matthew Henry's Commentary On The New Testament', with a preface by the Rev. C.H. Spurgeon, and with about '80 steel engravings and maps'. This complete set of 10 volumes, all nicely presented, hardback books circa 1890's, are in generally very good condition, were available only to subscribers. I have been through each book and they are all pretty much very good, some tanning to end-papers, but contents clean, all illustrations and maps present and stunning, the illustrations with tissue guards as a rule. Throughout all ten books, the pages are clean and solid, I noticed one small tear to a page in one book, and that's it. The covers are beautifully decorated , black embossed decoration to the front, gilt titling on the spine, blind embossed to the back, all on brown cloth, red tipped pages, a real quality set in mainly super condition, and with such cover decoration as to make any book shelf or spare space look attractive and decorative.
