This items is being relisted because the winner of the first auction encountered unexpected financial difficulty and requested that I resell it. So, it is again! This auction offers you the opportunity to bid on 1 of two marble top console table chests selling separately right now on our auctions. This auction is for one console chest only. If you want both, you must bid and win both auctions. One is not contingent on winning the other. This console is quite nice. It is a 3 drawer bombe chest with a blck marble top that is just spectacular. It is very large with ornate painted inlaid convex sides and front with a convex serpentine shaped front. Nice gold metal gilt trim with sleek curvy legs. The inlaid veneers look to be hand painted under the shiny finish. It look to date to somew around the 1940's 1950's era. Very nice high quality made table. The marble top is wonderfully grained black & white marble with a stepped edge and is very thick heavy marble.If you look closely you will see a slight fracture in the marble top but it is tight, solid and not loose at all. The marble top sits in place unattached and will be removed for transport. It stands 32" high and is 36" wide by 18" in depth from front to back. This is a beautiful piece of furniture that will last for many years to come. It has some normal scuffs and dings from use over the years but overall condition is very good.It will be selling with an opening bid of $5 as do almost all of our auctions, with no reserve price set. Any bid can win!
