Ladies and gentleman, a true beauty...fine antique oil painting....Description ARTIST UNKNOWN (CONTINENTAL SCHOOL, 19TH CENTURY) LADY SEATED IN BLUE. Oil on canvas. Unsigned Canvas: 15'' x 11.75'' Frame: 18.5'' x 15'' Condition This piece has significant restoration. This painting has a significant craquelure throughout the surface that appears to have been heated to stabilize. There is significant over painting on the cracks throughout. This overpainting is lightly visible. There is significant overpainting on the figure's skirt. and there is over-glazing to the chest/shoulder area There are three 1" diameter surface abrasions about 3" from the upper edge. Two of these have a punctured hole, all have pigment loss/flaking.
