EXQUISITE CHINESE ANCESTOR PORTRAIT SCROLL Magnificent Chinese ancestor portrait featuring a noble gentleman clad in ornate silken robes and seated upon a golden throne. Outstanding hand painting and attention to detail, from the sumptuous dragon brocades adorning his costume, to the bold floor tiles, and the individual hairs in his moustache, all very intricate. Must have taken a great deal of time to create this refined rendering. Gorgeous, vibrant coloration as well with a beautiful imperial yellow ground. Of significant size, mounted with silk borders, the overall scroll measures approximately 75" long and 27" wide. Dates to the early 1900's and is in excellent antique condition with just minor wear commensurate with age. This scroll is one of a rare pair.
