EXQUISITE, LARGE LEPIDOTES FLANK OF SCALES Rare 3D preservation of a Mesozoic fish. This instantly recognisable piece of fossil fish belonged to a huge Mesozoic 'armoured' fish called Lepidotes. This lovely example shows multiple rows of large, black, glossy enamel scales. Rare preservation of numerous fin bone elements also preserved. Detail visible on both sides of nodule. Solid piece.
