I am very pleased to offer this Fabulous Rock Crystal Orb Necklace. These wonderful necklaces from the 1920’s are becoming very difficult to find and continue to fascinate collectors. This is a continuous string of rock crystal orbs without lengths of chain between them. They are clear orbs of the mineral quartz and are especially desirable in this long length! This necklace measures 38” long and has 50 sparkling orbs all in excellent condition! Each orb is un-drilled and wrapped with sterling wire. They are known as the "chameleon jewel", as the balls reflect the colors in their surroundings and take on the hue of the fabric they are against. The term rock crystal pools of light is many times misused. This necklace is guaranteed to be genuine. This were originally designed as the long typical flapper necklace. These bouncing balls were probably quite popular with flappers and a wonderful accessory for night on the town dancing at a speak easy. At some point a small clasp and ring was added so that it can be worn either as a long necklace or a double strand as shown in my photo. These can be removed if so desired but they aren’t visible when worn long and are nice to vary the look. These magical rock crystal orbs are thought to bring good luck and fortune.
