WHAT A LOVELY MID 19th CENTURY SMALL SET OF BERRY SPOONS. EACH IS OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY. And of a good weight and in a great design too. Here we have an early and most useable small lot of 3 solid silver hallmarked provincial spoons of good gauge and weight.Hallmarks are deep and clear. Each is a very special and eye catching piece indeed.. Assayed in Exeter and dated 1860-year letter D.Makers are James and Josiah Williams. This assay office closed in 1883. Their length is quite large at 6 inches. These lovely items are of exceptional quality and each is a most delightful piece of antique table silver. This embossing to the bowl is known as a berry spoon and each is a lovely example....it is uncommon to find teaspoons like this as it occurs normally in serving spoons. Weight of actual silver is a good 74 grams (2.38 troy ounces),each piece is made of thick gauge silver throughout. The condition is very good and they have plenty of life left in them yet.
