This wonderful old clock is one of the best ones I've ever seen. I've owned and enjoyed it for over 15 years. I bought it at an estate auction in Gettysburg Pennsylvania and it has be well cared for ever since.It has been kept in a very clean, smoke-free environment so you can immediately proudly display in your home of office. It is one of the favorite clocks in my possession that I thought I'd never part with, but I'm downsizing and I just don't have room to display it any longer. I've been collecting advertising clocks for over 40 years and this is one of the best ones and most unusual ones I've ever seen. I think it definitely predates the Pam Clock and the traditional double bubble advertising clocks that are so popular today. Please mark me as one of your favorite sellers. You never know when I might get crazy and sell another one. This is an extremely Rare Advertising Clock from Stoltz's Jewelers, Intercourse Pennsylvania .It also advertises Gruen Watch Time Electric and has a drawing of two diamonds at approximately 9 and 3 o'clock on the face. It runs perfectly and lights up with 2 bulbs .This clock is not what I would call a true double bubble clock. It does however have two face parts. The inside glass plate is flat and contains all the writing and art work and I think it most likely was done by hand but I believe that greatly enhances the clocks value and desirability. The glass that covers it is a clear convex glass.The Stoltz's Jewelers lettering is shadowed adding to its individuality. I would guess this clock to be from the 40's or maybe even the thirties. I can't find any identifying marks on it to determine who manufactured the clock. However, in very small writing on part of the motor it appears to say: Protected by three patents and others: 3-49 The 3 could be a 6 but I don't think so. I believe, from talking to others that the motor was probably manufactured in 1949. It is powered by a very simple electric motor and keeps time perfectly. There are two light bulb sockets in the back of the clock,one of them is loose and needs to be reattached to the body of the clock. Both light sockets work. I am not shipping bulbs with this clock because it needs low watt bulbs (probably 15 watt bulbs-this is what I use in my other old lighted advertising clocks in order not to put off too much heat for the clock's art work. This large clock measures 15.5 inches X 15.5 inches X 3.5 inches. It displays so beautifully that I know you will treasure it as I have. This is really a once in a lifetime deal to buy a clock like this one. It is definitely one of a kind. When you see it, you will know what I mean. It is very nostalgic and quite obvious that it hung proclaiming the time in a Jeweler shop in Intercourse Pennsylvania . I have not been able to find out anything about Stoltz's Jewelers. It is a very simple design and could be easily taken apart by a clock maker. Someone experienced with clocks could refurbish this old clock easily. I never want to do that to my stuff but some people do and this is a very simple clock in design and would be easy to work on. If my guess is right about the age, the motor is 64 years and running and keeping perfect time and the clock itself might be much older. The clock has a few nicks and scratches and some surface rust, but it could be easily refurbished. If you would like any other information or more photos, please let me know. Also, please pardon the glare on some of the pictures. The convex front glass makes it hard to avoid glare in photos.
