This is a lovely porcelain set consisting of one large Platter (12 inches in diameter) and 6 small matching cake plates (6 inches diameter). It was made by, Erdmann Schlegelmilch of Shul, Thuringia, Germany. The center design is a wonderful scene of two lady’s and a small angel boy. All around this are flowers and a lovely black and Gold border. The six smaller plates have the simulair patterns, But aren not all the same. On the bottom is the famous beehive mark of Erdmann Schlegelmilch. The ES mark was used beginning feom 1891. (see pic) This set was manufactured, we assume, sometime between then and the early 1910s. There is some minor surface wear on all of the plates You almost have to hold the plates up to bright light at different angles to see the imperfections. One small plate has 2 minor chips on the black abnd gold edge. Overall, considering this set is about a hundred years old, they still display beautifully. The colors are still accurate & vivid.
