It is the Finest ,100% Pure American Folk Art Carving that you'll see on E-Bay for a long time to come. It is a Hand Carved American Federal Spread Winged Eagle, Possibly Carved and Painted by " John Haley Bellamy " ( 1836- 1914) A Folk Art Carver ,Of Kittery ,Maine , He is very Well Known for His Eagle Carvings. Some of his Examples have Sold from 100,000.00 to 660,000.00. This is a Striking Carving ,No matter who made it. You can see Examples of John Bellamy's Carvings and other Work ,on the Internet. Some are in Maritime Museums. This Gorgeous Example has some Wear to the Paint, but the Paint and surface are Original and Untouched, and there is still a Good Bit of Original Paint Left. You can still see the Gold Feathers ,and the Red ,White and Blue Claws ,Eye , Beak Shield easily. This Eagle has NO restorations ,and is in Ready to Hang Condition. There is a Wire Hanger Seen on the Reverse ,and 2 Small Holes seen in the Wing Feathers for Screws . It measures 44" Wide x about 15" high. This is the Real Deal ,and it is not a Reproduction.
