This is a BEAUTIFUL HUGE 1950's Nautical design Brass covered wood box with a hinged lid made in England! The brass covering has a GREAT patina and is on three sides and the lid! It has a 3 DIMENSIONAL design with a large sailing ship and two smaller ones and is the same on the lid as on the front of the box. The sides have a pretty design too. It is not marked by the maker but these were done (as well as magazine holders) in various 3 dimensional designs by the Lombard Company, England in the 1950's. It measures 11 3/8" tall, 17 1/4" wide and 10 5/8" deep. Heavy and nicely made. Good condition with only a little discoloration on the corner of the lid (please see close up last two photos) and some on the sides but not bad. The wood is in great condition and it has two "feet" too. I also have two magazine holders on Ebay only with other designs that are GREAT for the bathroom! These are WONDERFUL for a variety of things like magazines, kids or dog toys, or whatever you want put away and just look BEAUTIFUL wherever you would want to put it!Please see my other auctions for more BEAUTIFUL and UNIQUE items!
