Elegant for your Holiday dessert service, the 2 pieces you see are late 1800s French service pieces for ice cream or 'glace' desserts, and might well have originally included 12 flat-bowled spoons made in the same superb handle style. The ornate ferules and tips are in fine old French sterling in a Rococo pattern, the blades of each are in vermeil on metal argent or silverplated metal that is further gold plated. The service blades are not sterling, which helps keep down the price on the wonderful set, though not the appeal. You'll thrillin using these, or be the bestower of a most appreciated gift should you so choose. Grand pieces, and quite rare in mother of pearl handles. Very good condition, the handles are free of any chips, cracks, hairlines or other flaws that sometimes mar mother of pearl or shell handled items. These are superb, truly.
