With rounded corners, the samorodok case simulating molten gold on both sides, one corner set with a cabochon sapphire and diamond flower, fitted with a cabochon sapphire thumbpiece. Workmaster Eduard Schramm, St. Petersburg, circa 1890, stamped FabergÃf© in Cyrillic, 56 , (the Russian gold standard for 14k gold) with the St. Petersburg mark for before 1896 and the workmasterÃ,Â's initials E. S. 3 1/4 x 2 x 6/16 in. (8.3 x 5 x 1 cm.) Eduard Wilhelm Schramm, FabergÃf© Workmaster Eduard Schramm (dates unknown) was a St. Petersburg jeweler of German origin who specialized in hammered gold. He produced items for the Houses of Bolin and FabergÃf©. Only a few Schramm pieces exist with both his initials and the FabergÃf© stamp, as seen here.
