This Fabulous 19th Century Wooden Mantle or 'Kitchen' clock was purchased from a recent private estate sale as part of a large collection of European and American antique clocks. (Please view the pictures below) This clock's beautifully designed all wooden case was carved from a Lovely Grained Redish Brown wood (Possibly Rosewood) and stands a very impressive 22" in height and has a width of 13 1/4" at the widest point. The top of the case was very artistically carved in a fan styling that's depicting three separate floral leafy areas with grooved accent lines and a center circular button at the top. On both sides continuing down to the base are more of the carved scalloped floral patterns. The base was carved in a flared and molded designed with layers of grooves and concaved patterns. The front of the case has a hinged wooden door that is trimmed with the same Rosewood color wood that is very decorative with a angled top and concaved moldings. This wooden frame is inlayed with a clear glass panel that is also shaped to match the wooden frame. The glass has a gorgeous reverse painting in Gold that depicts overlapping arches that have flowers in each of them and another Floral arrangement in the center.
