It is four attached pages from a Sports Celebrity Dinner held in the Spring of 1995 on Long Island in New York. The charity dinner was for the Henry Viscardi School for the Disabled in Albertson, NY and was attended by dozens of celebrity athletes lending their support for this wonderful establishment. It was signed that evening by over 30 Different Celebrity Sports Athletes, mostly New Yorkers or those related to New York sports teams. This 4 page collection of autographs represents a virtual Who's Who in New York sports. Olympians, Hall of Famers, Coaches, Sportscasters and more. There are autographs from Baseball, Football, Basketball, Hockey, Soccer, Boxing, Figure Skating, Volleyball, Track & Field, Power Lifting, Lacrosse, Swimming etc. There are several Hall of Fame autographs, a few signatures from athletes who are now deceased in this collection and it truly represents a cross section of mid-1990s sports scene in New York. Each has signed across the front of their photo, a few extra athletes signed who appeared at the charity dinner that night who were not in the original photo array, and there are one or two autographs I'm unable to identify. Obviously not every athlete pictured in the evening's program signed it, some simply weren't available for signing, some simply did not show up. Baseball autographs include: Cooperstown Hall of Famer & New York Yankee Whitey Ford, Longtime New York Met Ed Kranepool, 1969 Miracle Met Ed 'The Glider' Charles, Former Met & Yankee Ron Swoboda and Met fan favorite Mookie Wilson*. Football signatures include: 1969 Super Bowl Champion NY Jet John Dockery*, ill-fated NY Jet Dennis Byrd*, Alabama Crimson Tide standout & NY Jet Marty Lyons, Syracuse University QB and Ottawa Roughrider (Canadian Football) Don McPherson, NY Giant running Back Lee Rouson and former NY Jet Ken Schroy. Basketball signatures include deceased Hall of Fame Knicks coach Red Holzman, now 88 year old Hall of Fame coach from St. Johns University Lou Carnesecca and Coach Fran Frascilla* (then of Manhattan College, followed by St Johns & University of New Mexico) and now with ESPN. Hockey signatures include Olympian and New York Islander Patrick Flatley, Hall of Famer and longtime New York Ranger Rod Gilbert, 4x Islander Stanley Cup Winner and Hockey Hall of Famer Clark Gilles and his teammate, Islander hero Bobby Nystrom*. Boxing Legend Smokin' Joe Frazier signed this along with Para-Olympic Power Lifter Charles Reid, Olympic Gold Medalist Swimmer John Naber, Olympic & Pro Skater Jojo Starbuck (Mrs Terry Bradshaw), Sportscaster Dave Sims, Gorgeous Olympic Volleyball champ Tauna Vanderweghe, NY Cosmo Soccer Goalie Shep Messing*, Lacrosse player Bob Codignotto, Outdoor Marksman & Author Joe DeFalco, Olympic Sprinter Diane Dixon, Olympic High Jump Legend Dwight Stones and there are two other unidentified signatures as well. The pages themselves are in very good condition. They measure a standard 8 1/2" inches wide x 11" inches high. The autographs are all on 3 pages (as shown), the 4th page honors their Executive Sportsman of the Year for 1995 with a story and photo. If you web search the VISCARDI Center (now Abilities, Inc.) you'll find what a long-standing and wonderful program they've had for 50+ years now. This charity dinner program collection of autographs was signed all in one night in 1995 and it comes from a collection I'm currently liquidating for a friend. The collection includes items signed over a 15 year period from 1982 through 1997 and it's one of the most unique items in the collection. NOTE: Some of the autographs (as noted with an *asterisk*) are personalized to Harris, a former student at the school and the late son of a friend of mine.
