<<1980's>> Randall Model 11-5 "Alaskan Skinner," with Sambar Stag. This knife was part of an estate sale and was one of four knives. Three of the four went to the gentleman of the house; one to the lady [see my other auctions for that one]. This is one of those three for the gentleman [see my other auctions for the others]. This knife was shipped from Randall Made Knives in Orlando, FL on December 14, 1989, just a week and a half before famed knifemaker Bo Randall passed on. As a result, it is probably one of the last knives he inspected before shipment. This is an absolutely fantastic Model 11, with superb full Sambar Stag characteristic of the period, with deep-cut finger grips. This stag is dense-heavy in the hand and almost literally glows--Sambar that it almost impossible to locate now. The knife has a gorgeous blade, and appears never to have been used--confirming the information received from the agent. It is clear that the knife "lived" in the sheath for awhile, but it is in wonderful shape for its age. The sheath does show a few marks and light stains from its storage over the years, but it is in super [if not pristine] condition. The owner's name -- "Fred" -- is engraved in the blade and gives the knife a sense of history. In the event the new owner does not wish to retain the name, the good folks at Randall will be happy
