Vintage Wrist Compact This is a fabulous little compact with the bonus of a cigarette or change compartment. It is marked inside: Mondaine, New York, U.S.A., Pats. Pending. It measures 3" x 4" and has a woven fabric wrist strap. The outer case is made of brass-plated steel, with dark green leather covering the front and back. The decorative metal inner compartment lids and mirror surround are brass. The makeup compartments are lined with aluminum pans. Push button clasp and hinge are in great condition. The front brass medallion is a tiny compact on the compact, which opens to reveal a lipstick compartment and mirror made of metal. The lipstick has been cleaned out. The clasp and hinge on this part are in great condition. This compartment is showing a few tiny spots of metal oxidation inside. The leather is showing a bit of color wear, with small spots and light scratches w color is missing. Not very noticable. The lacquer finish on the lipstick compartment has a few tiny spots of wear. The compact opens to reveal a beveled glass mirror on the lid. It is a flaw or chip in one corner, which is on the back of the mirror (can't be felt on the surface). The mirror is aging and showing specks etc. T are three compartments on the other half of the compact. The largest one has a spring hinge and is very clean, which leads me to believe it held cigs or dollar bills. The compartment is 2 5/8" long, would this fit hand rolled smokes? The smallest compartment is marked "face rouge" and still has some inside, A puff is held in place by a clip. The other compartment is marked "face powder" and also has some inside. The puff for this is missing. The brass comparment lids and the frame around the mirror are emossed with decorative patterns. T is a small cartouche for engraving one's initials on the cigarette comparment. All compartments are in great condition It is very well made and in good condition except for the aging mirror. Weighs a hefty 6.2 oz unpacked. Shipping Charges in US Buyer pays $3.10 first class shipping to US locations, which includes .50 for tracking and handling. I promise fast shipping. First class rates start at $10.40 for one pound, to give you an idea. Ask before bidding if you need a shipping cost . I charge actual shipping plus $0.50 handling. Payments only in US dollars by Paypal (with confirmed address) or International Money Order. Customs value will be the selling price; customs form will state actual contents.
