Up for auction is a vintage necklace of unknown material. I bought these at an estate sale and thought they were black until I looked at them in the light and they are cherry red and gorgeous. I think they might be Cherry Amber but am unsure so I am not selling it as such and this may not be returned . The necklace is 24" long and the largest bead is 1.25" long. Here are the tests I performed on one of the smaller beads at the top of the necklace and the confusing results. The beads are not tacky after the alcohol test. Nothing rubs off with acetone. They are light enough (59.6 grams) so as not to be Bakelite or glass. I don't see any unusual colors under a blacklight. They don't appear to float in salty water. They do not give off any odor when placed in hot water. I was able to make a tiny scratch with a pin in the side of the smallest bead. So......They are nice and shiny with no scratches and definitely older as the thread appears old. No clasp. Even if they are not the real thing, they are lovely.Shipping will be $5.00 for Small Box Priority Shipping.
