This is a superb specimen, and is largely DAMAGE-FREE . Faden quartz grew in two directions simultaneously, so is typically made up of scores of doubly terminated crystals. Where the growth started you can see a string of bubbles that show up as a white "line" - the hallmark of a faden crystal (pronounced "fah-den"). This is another terrific specimen that we found at the TUCSON MINERAL SHOW in February. A Faden crystal is a rare Quartz crystal in which the inclusion of one or more white thread-like fibrous line formations occurs. The Faden line is visible
