They were purchased on a day of great celebration in McLeod Ganj (see pictures) They are manufactured to the highest quality. The flags are traditionally in a sequence of 5 colours: blue (represents space), white (water), red (fire), green (air / sky), earth (yellow), The flags are thought to carry the prayers written on them to the spirits and this is why they are also called wind horses. Prayer flags have been fixed to homes and spiritual places to bring happiness, prosperity, peace, long life and knowledge to the planter. The flags hang from left to right, always yellow first.
