For sale is a really nice Fairbanks Morse Portable Platform Beam Scale in excellent, used condition. This if Fairbanks Morse Model 1124A, and it has a 1000 pound capacity. This scale comes complete with all four weights - 500, 200, (2) 100. The sliding scale contains the remaining 100 pounds. The platform dimension is 18" x 27". These scales have been a worldwide standard for general utility weighing for well over 100 years. During that period the scale has under gone continual design refinement to provide easier operation and longer service life. These refinements include the offset metal pillar, cast beam graduations, inset wheels and square pivots. Rugged cast levers and base provide many years of dependable service. The large 18x27" platform and 1,000 Ib. capacity fill many industrial and commercial utility weighing requirements w usage frequency does not justify the cost of a dial or digital scale. This scale meets or exceeds National Bureau of Standards Handbook 44 requirements for commercial accuracy. The platform is completely free and nonbinding. Wheels are enclosed within the scale base to eliminate projection hazards. Recessed counterpoises guard against interference from people or objects around the scale. To assure long life, accuracy and sensitivity, self-aligning, hardened steel pivots and "V" bearing are used. read more
