Fine cover dated and posted from South Orkneys postmarked 15 JA 53. The year has been inserted by hand presumably by the postmaster on South Orkneys. The 2.5d, 3d and 1/- are from the later thin maps set and the rest are from the original thick maps set. I would assume these were the stamps available at the post office on the day of posting. There are 3 listed varieties with the best being the "extra dot by oval" on the 1/2 d sg G1d. The others are "gap in 80th parallel" on 6d sg G6a and "dot in "T" on 1/- sg G16aAll stamps will have any significant hidden faults described above unless described as a spacefiller in which case there could be too many to mention. Centring and short perfs will not always be included in the description where the scan is clear. Postal history may have small faults that are not described, but will have all major faults included in the description. Returns at the bidders expense will be accepted for all lots unless significantly mis-described, in which case I will bear the cost of returning the item. Postage and packaging 75p within UK or £1.25 worldwide except for bulky or large cover auctions which are £1.25 within the UK and £2.50 worldwide.
