Famed William Mortensen Protege Noel Engel Jumbo sized award winning exhibition print signed and titled "From Romany", 1967.Engel who was best known for his studio work, studied under famed California pictorialist William Mortensen from 1957 to 1965 when he moved to Southern California. This was when Mortensen was based in Laguna Beach, CA.Award winning exhibition print signed and titled by the artist with multiple exhibition stamps on the reverse. Noel Engel, a protege of William Mortensen won several awards for his work throughout his long photographic career. Originally from Indiana, Engel had a long and illustrious career as a photographer and filmmaker. He was also a member of the Photographic Society of America (PSA) as well as numerous other American camera clubs and photographic societies and exhibited in photo competitions and private exhibitions across America.
