A real nice early cut engraved Famous Atherton whiskey backbar decanter from the pre prohibition era of the 1890s.....complete with what I believe is the original ground stopper. FAMOUS ATHERTON JULIUS KESSLER & CO. DISTILLERS (all boldly cut deeply into the glass on front and highlighted with gold enamel.....Hand blown in mold....smooth base.....round "bell" shape with footed base....cut glass panels around neck and waist.....hand tooled wide flared ring collar....ground inside neck with original ground stopper, which has V ribs coming to a pointed top. Bottle is in excellent shiny attic nice condition with no chips or damage. A small bit of faint inside content haze, but not bad. The stopper has one chip on side. It fits snug.
