Look at the Photographs closely: This is a really really nice copy of Hemingway's Farewell to Arms, First Printing with the First Issue Dust Jacket. I HATE TO PART WITH THIS BOOK! It has been a pride and joy in my personal collection for years, but now I am paying my children's college tuition (Two of 'em!) and I need hunks of money. It's that simple. Remember, in book collecting, CONDITION IS EVERYTHING. This is the first state; The point that differentiates the first state of the 1st Ed from the reprint is the lack of a disclaimer on p. [x] that the characters represented are fictional. This is the first state DJ; The point which differentiates this is the mispelling "Katherine Barclay" on the front inside flap. The Dust Jacket is not price clipped and contains the orig $2.50 price point. The front remains bright and clean, with vivid orange and gold. The spineof the DJ is slightly faded (yes, it's over 80 years old) but there are no tears or splits as you usually see; there are just a few chips and some typical edgewear which are clearly shown in the photos. The original white of the back is somewhat faded but overall this is truly a sharp, clean, highly collectible DJ. I would call it VG ++, but in that I have seen many copy's of this book over the years, I can tell you that I've seen very few DJs like this. It has been read more
