This is an 11 by 14 inch oil painting on paper board done in 1983 on location by listed New Jersey artist Frank Zuccarelli.It is in excellent condition and comes in an old frame that shows wear.The photos tell the story. This will be shipped free via UPS insured. Born in Olyphant, Pa., and raised in Bound Brook, N.J., Frank Zuccarelli lived in New Brunswick, N.J., before moving to Somerset in 1961. Mr. Zuccarelli served with the Marines in the South Pacific during World War II. Frank received his formal art education at Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts and his B.A. from Kean University. He was named a "master pastelist" by the Pastel Society of America and was a member of the Salmagundi Club, American Artists Professional League, Allied Artists, and the Hudson Valley Art Association. His paintings have appeared in numerous publications and have been exhibited nationally as well as in Canada, France, Italy, Russia, and China. Zuccarelli had done extensive work for the U.S. Navy Combat Art Collection in Washington, D.C., receiving the Louis E. Seley NACAL Gold Medal for outstanding achievement in oil painting as one of his many awards. In 1975, he participated in the Apollo-Soyuz splashdown and recovery by providing numerous paintings and sketches while aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. New Orleans. read more
