Shuman, illustrated by George Wharton Edwards et. al., published by Shuman in 1892, second edition, 6.25" x 8.75" hardcover (mustard yellow cloth on boards with white decoration and gilt lettering, top edge of the text block gilt), 221 pages, illustrated with photographic portraits and with drawings in text. "Over three hundred autograph recipes, and twenty-three portraits, contributed specially by the board of lady managers of the World's Columbian Exposition."The book was published as a fund-raiser for the Women's Department.The other illustrators are May Root-Kern, Mellie Ingels Julian, and Louis Braunhold.The book is in very good condition: Clean contents, rear end papers lightly stained from newspaper clippings, tight binding, firm hinges, slight shelf lean, some soiling and scuffing to the boards, several shallow indentations to the fore edge of the back board.
