Being offered is this very old, antique pendulum wall clock operated with weights* attached below. Appears from the Federal style period, from Washington-Baltimore-Philadelphia region of the United States. It comes from an estate sale and we do not know if it works, chimes, or is missing any parts (*such as the chains for the weights?). Ideal for a clockmaker and restorer to bring back to its original glory. It is adorned with a hand-painted bald eagle motif holding an olives branch and arrows, with a red ribbon threaded in its beak; its wings are spread wide, which may indicate the exact locale this is from. Condition is physically Very Good, with intact reverse-painted glass decor under the clock face showing flaked aging. The columns flanking the sides have aged goldtone paint. We apologize for not opening the hinged cover to show insides, it was an error we can correct shortly. The glass over the face is intact as well, but we do not know if its old or recent. There is a small chip on a top corner (see photos). An antiques collector will know more about the type of wood used, etc. Measures 25" high x 15" wide x 4.5" deep. Weighs 16 lbs with weights. Will be carefully packed, tracked and ship-insured for US or international buyer (added fees included in shipping payment). Insurance covers lost or damaged goods, for full refund. read more
