Welcome Vintage Carnival Glass Collectors! IS A STUNNING PIECE OF RED CARNIVAL GLASS. Up for auction from a gorgeous, old estate is a VERY PRETTY, OLD FENTON HOLLY COMPOTE in the very desirable RED color. IT IS GORGEOUS! The iridescence is excellent! The color is SUPERB. It is one my all time favorites. The owner was an avid Carnival Glass Collector with over 400 pieces in their collection. IT IS NOT MARKED. It is an old, vintage piece. This compote has been well cared for and VERY PROUDLY DISPLAYED! It is a showcase piece! No cracks, chips, fleabites or repairs. I see no bubbles. The only thing I can mention is I see one very tiny pimple of extra glass which is only visible upon very close inspection. IT IS A SUPERB EXAMPLE! The base is in excellent shape, it is amberina. AS CLOSE TO MINT AS YOU WILL EVER FIND. You can reference this piece in David Doty's Updated 1998 Guide on page 100. Back in 1998 these pieces brought up to $1000. The overall color of this red compote is splendid. The iridescence is very nice. The mold is VERY crisp...really pretty! I think the pictures say it all....please take a look at them. At least I hope they do it justice as this piece is hard to represent properly. The pictures were taken in natural light...NO FLASH. A FANTASTIC example of vintage FENTON QUALITY, this pattern and this color. For those of you new to Carnival Glass, I guarantee you this is a 100% authentic early 1900's antique. I deal in Carnival Glass a lot and you can rest assured this is of the highest quality. A PIECE TO BE ADMIRED. IT REALLY STANDS OUT!
