WELCOME CARNIVAL GLASS COLLECTORS! Item Description: This is a beautiful, old Fenton KITTENS Vase or Toothpick in gorgeous BLUE base glass - 2 5/8 inches tall and 3 1/4 inches wide with wonderful MULTI-COLOR iridescence! This is a truly wonderful piece of vintage Fenton. Really pleasing colors on this fantastic little piece, you will love the iridescence...it is superb! It is an old vintage piece, not marked. It really lights up in natural light. I've seen these called vases and I've seen them called toothpicks. The height favors a vase by definition, but the sides are not smooth and it is obviously whimsey from a plate. So I will leave it to the buyer to decide. In any case, it is a superior example of this pattern and this color. It is beautiful on display and an excellent investment quality piece of glass. I have included several photos of the piece so you can see for yourself. It looks even better in your hands as it is always very difficult to capture a piece like this on film and do it justice. You can reference this piece in David Doty's 1998 Field Guide to Carnival Glass or The Encyclopedia to Carnival Glass and Edwards and Carwile. I guarantee this is authentic, early 1900's vintage Carnival Glass! All pictures were taken outside in natural light...no flash. I never enhance photos, what you see is what you get. I do not use reserves, never have, I believe the buyers should set the value, so bid with confindence and have fun...it will sell to the high bidder. Item Condition: ( Pictures are part of the description...and I include lots of them...so please have a look!) This piece is in excellent condition ! No chips, cracks, fleabites or repairs! No major detractions whatsoever. T are a few scattered manufacturing stretch marks, you must be looking closely to see them. Nothing u ncommon. The base is very, very clean. Very slight shelf wear noted, nothing uncommon. T are a few enclosed manufacturing bubbles, small. Again, very normal. The interior of this piece is iridized and beautiful. The very edge of one ruffle has a pin-head size fleck or wear spot so small you can hardly feel it. T are a few pin-head sized flecks of loss of iridescence on the outside of the piece also...very tiny wear spots. Very common. This must have only been used for display its whole life. That is all I can find on this gorgeous piece. I've looked it over hard. I'm being very picky. I included lots of pictures, up close, so have a look. Simply...it is an outstanding, solid, investment quality piece of glass. I collect Carnival Glass myself and I'm picky with my descriptions, like I like others to be when I'm buying so you know what you are getting. And as all of us in Carnival know color is key and this piece displays gorgeous multi-color! None of these mentionables take away from this fantastic piece at all . It is an awesome example !
