Fenton BLACK SATIN CHESSIE BOX DESCRIPTION: This auction is for a STUNNING and VERY EXCLUSIVE Fenton Black Satin Handpainted CHESSIE BOX made exclusively for the Pacific Northwest Fenton Collectors of America sold at their annual convention. They were made in a very limited number. In addition, this gorgeous box has been beautifully hand painted by an in line Fenton artist to look like the Tabby cat she is, nestled in a blanket. Just beautiful! This Box has been HANDSIGNED by Shelley Fenton on the bottom of the box. Fenton has been occasionally making the Chessie Box since 1970, the year the first one was presented as a gift for their special employees. Chessie is the beloved mascot of the C & O Railroad, and these beautifully made Glass Candy dishes are much loved by collectors. This box has a lovely satiny smooth finish to it as it has been satinized. The inside of the box and lid are shiny. I will include many pictures of this Chessie box, so that you can assure yourself that it is perfect in every way. It has been taken out of the box only for pictures, and will be shipped in it's original box. I can guarantee this is a first quality Chessie jar. The Chessie box is 9 inches tall with the lid on, and 5 inches wide. The jar has the silver Fenton label on it, showing it to be a first quality piece. The bottom has the impressed words "Chessie" by Fenton. It has the Fenton artist's handsignature. It also has PNWFA 2008 printed on the bottom. Shelley Fenton's signature can be seen faintly at the top right side of the bottom picture. It is easier to spot in person. This beautiful Chessie box is in excellent/new condition, t are no chips, cracks or flea bites. It would make a wonderful addition to any serious Fenton collector's collection. It is in a smoke free environment, and will be carefully packaged. I double box my glass. If you have any questions regarding this auction, please contact me before the auction closes.
