Welcome! Crystal Crest Pie Crust Flared double crimped vase, produced in the 1st half of 1942 only. "Crystal crest is an opal glassware with a clear spun glass edge which also has an outer layer of opal trim. Fenton's Crystal Crest pattern was only made for about the first half of 1942. Sometime after mid-year, the opal trim was dropped and the similar Silver Crest pattern was born...... Although the listing of Crystal Crest items made is extensive, the short period of time this pattern was in production has resulted in a very short supply of items on the secondary market." (Quoted from "Fenton Art Glass Patterns, 1939-1980" by Margaret & Kenn Whitmyer.) In undamaged condition, without chips or cracks. T are some very small light colored rust spots on the inside bottom. You can see them in the second picture at about the 10 o'clock & 12 o'clock positions down inside the vase. I think this crest was very very difficult to apply on this particular vase. On the outside the silver crest part is flush with the vase but on the inside, it is raised above the milk glass portion. The crystal crest is smooth and flush with the silver crest. It is a beautiful vase and not seen very often. Height = 3 3/4" Width across crimp = 4 5/8" (all sizes approximate) Insurance is highly recommended but not required.
