All Fenton items offered are new, HAVE ORIGINAL LABEL and are in their original box!! This is the last of its kind - read below for information regarding fenton's closure. The Fenton Glass Company announced in August 2007 it would be closing its doors after 102 years of manufacturing glass products . The Williamstown, West Virginia company announced it would stop taking orders at the end of August, and close by the end of October. The Company was founded in 1905 by brothers Frank and John Fenton. Frank, an experienced glass maker, had worked previously at the Indiana Glass Company. Fenton Art Glass opened its doors in 1905. Their brother Charles soon joined them, and the Fenton family successfully ran the company from 1905 through the busiest times in the1980's. Unlike other glass manufacturers, Fenton successfully weatd world wars, depressions, and escalating costs. Company President George Fenton said that a number of factors led to the closing of the Fenton Glass Company including import competition, increased fuel costs that impacted both manufacturing and the purchasing power of their customers.
