Horse Hair pottery is a 1,200 year-old technique considered secret by the artist but a brief description of the process is: the pottery is first fired and at certain time taken out and Horse Hair from the mane and tail are burnt in. The pottery is then again fired and then taken out and "Smoked" to add tone and hue to the pottery. This Navajo made horse hair "Fertility Kokopelli" is 7.5" tall and stands on a flat base for display. The Kokopelli is the Navajo symbol of fertility. The bottom is signed by Master Artist Tom Vail of Sedona, Arizona. A fine heirloom. Mailing $8.00. stwflbp
