Freehand Decorated Stoneware Batter Pail, Stamped "F.H. COWDEN / HARRISBURG," circa 1880. This pail has been lovingly, cared for as thier are no chips or cracks throuhgout the entire peice. Batter pails in this type of condtion rarely if ever are available. Please see picture! It retains its original bail handle. These batter jugs, expecially those signed FH Cowden, are getting next to impossible to find. This has been in my private collection for many years. This is a wonderful diplay piece as it is only 7.5 inches high and 5 inches at the base. Please feel free to ask any questions and I can take more pictures as well.
