FOR THE FINAL OFFENSIVE IN ITALY, APRIL 1945, with printed signature of Alexander as Field Marshal and Supreme Allied Commander, Mediterranean theatre. Dated Allied Forces HQ, April 1945. 8 7/8 inches x 6 inches approx. Some light central folds (obviously spent some time in a soldier's wallet), minor puncture mark at top right between the A and Y in the word DAY, otherwise good condition.This printed Special Order was issued to all troops serving in Italy prior to the final offensive against German forces, which ended successfully when German troops surrendered to the Allied forces on 29th April 1945, after negotiations between Allan Dulles of the USA and the German SS General Wolff.
