LOT 334 Seller's Estimate: USD 1,500 - 2,500 (FIJI--EARLY PHOTOGRAPHS.) An album containing 54 photographs, primarily around Valeci and Savu Savu, Fiji, 52 of which mounted on thick card. Oblong 4to, 240x310 mm, contemporary 1/4 black roan, contents loose in binding; images generally in good order, crisp with good contrast, a few of the mounts foxed. [Fiji, circa 1900] Subjects include: sugar cane plantations; native Fijians; ceremonies; colonists and their leisure activities; native and colonial buildings; landscapes.
