An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41"Beautiful Color and Great Film Noir Poster Subject. I Married a Communist (this film premiered in the U.S. in late 1949 as "I Married a Communist", but was given a general release in 1950 as "The Woman on Pier 13"), the 1949 Robert Stevenson romantic anti-Communism crime film noir ("HER BEAUTY served a mob of terror whose one mission is to destroy!"; "High voltage melodrama!") starring Laraine Day , Robert Ryan , John Agar , Thomas Gomez , Janis Carter , Richard Rober, and Fred Graham . Note that this is an unusual movie in two respects! One is that the movie had a Hollywood premiere in October of 1949 under the title "I Married a Communist", but had its general release in June of 1950, and by that point, the title had been changed to "The Woman on Pier 13" (perhaps anti-Communist sentiment had grown enough during those few months that RKO did not want to release a movie that sounded remotely sympathetic to Communism, even though the movie was completely anti-Communism!). Poster was originally folded but has been nicely restored on linen. With linen, it measures 28.5x43" Overall, very good condition. There is some dirt on the back of the poster on the linen from storage.Track Page Views WithAuctiva's FREE Counter
