FINE 18TH CENTURY WORCESTER BLUE SCALE PORCELAIN BOWL Presented is a wonderful English porcelain oval plate or bowl by Worcester. This piece is beautifully hand painted and gilded in the Blue Scale pattern, an elegant floral pattern with orange and white flowers on a deep blue background. The blue background appears to have scales, giving the pattern its name. Not only could this piece be used as a bowl, but it could be used as the underplate for a gravy boat. This piece was definitely made circa 1770. The bowl is marked on the underside with a maker's mark for Worcester, circa 1770. The oval bowl has no problems - no chips, no cracks, no crazing, no breaks, and no repairs. The dish is 6 inches by 7 1/2 inches.
