PRESENTING A FINE ANTIQUE 1940s MAHOGANY EXECUTIVE DESK + GLASS TOP Presenting a Fine Antique Mahogany Executive Desk with Custom Glass Top. Circa 1940s, featuring Solid Mahogany raised panel drawers. Made by Joseph E. Shoemaker, Arch Street, Philadelphia- famous fine Roll Top & Executive Desk Maker since the turn of the century. The desk is finished on all sides , allowing placement in the center of a room. All drawers fit nicely into their openings, sliding in & out very well. They are divided inside & have tight, quality Dovetail Joinery construction. Bottom drawer on one side is sized for Standard Files. Center drawer has hardwood organizer tray. Beautiful turned, Solid Brass knobs adorn the fronts. Closing of the center drawer automatically locks all other drawers- a classic old desk function. Slide out, auxillary work surfaces on both sides. Thick top with sculpted edges, comes with custom made plate glass top. Finish on top has a little cloudiness in one area- see photos- hardly noticable with glass top in place but mentioned for clarity. Shows normal age & use with scuffs, scratches & dings, overall presents very nicely. Original dark Mahogany finish with nice Ribbon Stripe Mahogany grain figure everyw Rests on beautifully turned legs. Measures 50 inches wide, 30 inches deep & 30.5 inches high.
