This gorgeous bowl is attributed to HAWKES. This company patented the original RUSSIAN pattern. The Russian pattern was also produced by Pairpoint and Hoare. This is a large bowl measuring 10-1/2" top diameter and is 3-3/4" high. Cut from a lovely clear white blank measuring 3/16" thick. It has a flat bottom entirely covered with the deeply cut Russian pattern. The sides and bottom are divided by a deep miter cut. The sides have a larger cut Russian pattern. Another deep miter separates a plain thin band of glass with a pointed sawtooth rim. The points are cut so sharply that you must be careful when handling the piece...an indication of a finely cut piece. The condition is excellent....not one of the teeth has a chip or fleabite...very unusual to find a rim in this condition. T are no chips anyw on the bowl. A gorgeous sparkling bowl that would be a fine display piece or a wonderful bowl for salad etc...sure to impress your guests!
