(Overseas shipping at half-price) We are proud to offer this SUPERB, ANTIQUE Japanese ivory netsuke from a prominent Palm-Beach collection of many years - some of the pieces in this group came from a renowned collectors and auction homes like Sotheby's and Christie's - This group of fine Netsuke is for the serious collector - I will not attempt to guess who the carvers are, just please examine the pictures and judge the quality and age for yourselves - enjoy the bidding and please look at all are listings for more wonderful Netsuke and many other ivory carvings. This FINE netsuke depicts a figure of a man, kneeling under the burden of a large container on his back - RARE, 3 sets of string holes to enable tying the netsuke in different balance as needed. SUPERB, INTRICATE detail with wonderful facial expression. It is artist SIGNED on the back with Japanese characters inside a cartouch. The style and age wear suggest it was carved around 1850 from a single piece of elephant ivory tusk. Condition is very good with no losses - DEEP age patina. It measures 1 5/8" x 1 3/8" x 1".
