Hello and welcome! Tuscany Books offers: One splendid example of very early printing, a wide-margined leaf from an incunabulum, the Koberger bible, printed in Nuremberg, Germany in 1479. It is listed as number 3072 in Hain and as number B564 in Goff. Please check out our other listings offered on ebay. We try to list new items every day and will gladly give a shipping discount on multiple purchases. The literal meaning of the Latin word incunabulum is "infant's cradle" and alludes to the fact that printing at that time was in its infancy. The fact that a book was printed before 1500 is significant in that its value is much greater than if it had been printed in 1501 or later. Condition of leaf: On handmade, water-marked paper in very good condition with traces of aging: minor soiling, staining or spotting, edge flaws, original paper flaws, etc.We will mention flaws that cannot be seen on the photograph. Please note: We never restore or treat our items with chemicals to enhance their appearance. Tfore, you can be confident when you bid on this incunable leaf that it will not deteriorate beyond the natural aging process. Size of the leaf: ca.16" x 11.25" (410 mm x 285 mm). Pictured: both sides of the leaf offered for sale. Similar Items: For similar items to this, please see all our listings. Please "click" on the blue link read more
