Eduardo (Chevo) Ortiz is best known lately for finely painted color designs on highly reflective black chrome pottery. You can read about Eduardo on page 122 of The Many Faces of Mata Ortiz. This beautiful pot features terra cotta designs on a polished black background and measures 9" tall, 7-1/2" in diameter and 24" in circumference. Its quality is very fine. We use quality categories as follows: Extra Fine--these pots are made by renowned artists and generally sell from $800 to several thousand dollars retail. Very Fine--these pots may be made by renowned or up and coming expert potters and generally sell for $200 to $800 retail. Fine--these pots are made by lesser known artists or students of the masters and may be as good as any of the above, selling for $100 to $300 retail. We do not sell any of the commercial grade products. Each pot is one-of-a-kind, a carefully made piece of artwork.
