A superb vintage Sheffield plated tea and coffee service done in classical styling that reproduces the forms of the Georgian period 1790-1810.Made by the famous English firm of Walker and Hall ,renowned Sheffield platers who have produced some of the finest services from late Victorian times to present day.The best in quality construction,including ebonized riveted wooden handles on the tea and coffee pots,fine heavy gauge hinges,and reeded wooden mushroom finials on turned brass posts.Elegant timeless design,with sleek urn bodies and Georgian period reeding.Superior heavy electro-plating most likely over copper and gleaming with a butler`s finish.It is unfortunate that the photos do not reveal the true beauty of the pieces and their excellent polished shine.All pieces marked on the underside with the company name Walker and Hall along with the company banner logo and no.53288.Both the tea and coffee pots marked with capacity of 1 1/2 pints.This service is one to be proud of and used for special intimate guests or at special occasion parties,the quality and design being that wonderful.The coffee pot stands 9 1/4 inches high,the teapot 6 1/4 inches high,and the cream jug and open sugar at 3 1/4 inches.All are in near mint condition,with minor table wear from use on the bases and some staining within both pots from beverages.A very
