This is a vintage (1960) cast iron fire hydrant made by the Mueller Co. of Chattanooga, Tenn,. and it is the 'RARE" 1 1/2" connection. The hydrant has been restored to a floor lamp and it displays very well. The lamp has a height of 53" and at the base, the hydrant is secured to a piece of 12" in diameter steel diamond plate. The height of the hydrant by itself is 21". T are 4 legs with rubber caps on the legs. The top nut is made of brass and it has been polished and lacquered. The letters on the hydrant have been hi-lighted with gold paint. The lamp disassembles very easily and could be displayed as a hydrant only. For shipping, the lamp will be disassembled and re-assembly will be required. The lamp shade is NOT included, it would take an additional box for shipping. This is a very nice item and would make a great addition to the family room or a great x-mas gift for your favorite firefighter.
